Andrea was raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, oskana kā-asastēki, Treaty 4 Territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and Métis. Since 2014, she has called Fort McMurray, Nistawâyâw, home, where she lives and works on Treaty 8 Territory - the traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and travelling route of the Cree, Dene, Dane-zaa (Beaver), and Métis. She is grateful to live, learn, unlearn, prosper, and provide care on these lands, and is committed to ongoing learning, collaboration, and reconciliation.
Andrea brings extensive experience in the mental health field. Throughout her career, she has engaged in direct clinical practice, leadership, and program development, supporting the creation of compassionate, accessible, and trauma-informed mental health services.
At Boreal Therapy Collective, Andrea offers therapy to adults navigating mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She supports adults struggling with substance use and process addictions, including compulsive gambling, shopping, and eating. Her practice integrates cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, and somatic approaches.
Andrea has dedicated her career to being trauma-informed, client-centred, and focused on continued professional education to provide evidence-informed care. Her approach emphasizes creativity, self-compassion, and acknowledges the ways our relationships, communities, and broader systems shape individual wellbeing.
Andrea provides in-person and virtual therapy to adults throughout Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
